During this economic recession many people have lost their jobs or are receiving less pay. At the same time the bills are still due and inflation continues to eat away at the purchasing power of money. The deficiency needs to be made up. One way to do this is to start a sash window repair company for a true recession proof career.

The bursting of the housing bubble, increasing government spending, bailouts of companies, these have been the headlines the past few years. Companies going out of business, downsizing, or decreasing pay scales, this is what many employees have experienced. Some have found security and enjoyment in their work, through leaving the rat race and starting their own business.

It is important to find a niche in your community. If you can become an expert in sash windows, you can provide a valuable service to your customers and be rewarded, even during hard times.

They may not be often installed these days, but they still exist in old houses. They are the style windows of two panels of glass panes that can slide up or down on a track built onto the side jambs. Never having seen one functioning properly, most people have no clue how they are designed to work.

When the top panel is opened downward an opening is created for the hotter air near the ceiling forces it's way out and continues upward. This causes cooler air from outside to be sucked in through the opening at the bottom, where the bottom panel is raised. This efficient system circulates air in the house without resorting to electrical fans.

Most of them do not work this way because various problems with their mechanisms have developed over time and have never been repaired. The panels are designed to stay where the user places them through the use of counterbalancing weights which are hung inside the frame. These weights exert a downward force on the suspension cords which pass over pulleys at the top, lifting the pane.

If wood in the frame deteriorates, the panel will not move, or can vibrate in the wind and no longer be energy efficient.

The existence of these units, and their potential for defects and malfunctioning, creates a demand for services which has not been met in the past. By providing this valuable service a good income can be realized. The customer can be spared the unnecessary cost of unnecessary energy expenditures. The opportunity to start a sash window repair company for a true recession proof career exists now.
