It has become a must that all business owners understand the importance of their online reputation. With a simple click of the mouse, your business can literally be destroyed. We are in the digital, and technology is growing by leaps and bounds.

In the old days if an upset client had something bad to say about your business, nobody truly knew about it. If the media or news reported something bad about you and/or your business in a few days it would fade away and no one would remember it. The customer is usually right was a famous saying but wasn't regarded seriously.

Welcome To The Digital Age

In the digital age an upset customer can post a comment to his or her Facebook page from their smartphone. Within a few short minutes your clients post can go viral and copied to other blogs and social networking sites. The old saying that the client is right is more true now than ever.

The majority of business owners realize that it is important to have an online presense. Those entrepreneurs that are tech savvy will setup 1 or 2 accounts on a couple of the popular social network websites, and post a few status updates. At the end of the day they don't understand how everything works and they soon give up.

I do not want you to listen to me, go check it out for yourself. Go right now and search for a local chiropractor. I guarantee you that a lot of them have websites that are outdated. Now type the name of that same business in the search engine trying to find reviews e.g. "XYZ Company Name Review Virginia Beach." Chances are if you repeat this process a number of times you will learn a business with bad reviews.

After you have discovered your negative review look at how long it's been there and check to see if any person has answered to it. Chances are that they have not. In fact I will just about guarantee you the entrepreneur is unaware of the negative review and is loosing business because of it.

The best thing to do is team up with a professional and have them manage your online reputation management. After all your job is to work on your business and not in your business.
