The Single Action That Transformed the Profitability of These Firms

The transformation of these two enterprises was based totally on one single action. They each modified their thinking on one specific area of business activity. What they actually did could easily be done by any business in any sector. The likelihood is that the same activity will pay handsome dividends to any business that behaves in a similar way.

One of the enterprises is small the other one is huge by anyone's standards. Both of these businesses used NLP techniques to change their approach to their market. They were both surprised by the response of their customers. In each case buyers right away started to buy much more of the companys ' products and in each case clients returned more often. You could say that shoppers became more faithful and supportive of the business.

The first business is a small general store in a country hamlet. The shop sells a variety of groceries, wines, newspapers and mags. When the new owner moved in he began to deliver newspapers to his customers' doors early in the morning, so that the customers could read their papers as they ate their breakfast. At least once a week the shop owner includes a flyer in each paper promoting some of his groceries. When anybody visits his store the staff all greet the customer with a grin and happy words. Nothing is too much trouble - the customer is king.

The second business is a giant manufacturing company who sell their product to the construction industry. They were the number three player in the market with two much bigger opponents. They altered their outlook so that now they focus very strongly on their customers. They do everything they can think of to treat each customer as they'd like to be treated themselves. They are now number two in the market and growing strongly.

Any business can increase its turnover by adopting an approach of making certain that each employee treats each customer as they'd like to be treated themselves - not as an annoying distraction from what I currently focussed on.
